In brief

What works, what to weigh

+

Strengths

4 reasons to book
  • Rooms with views over Eduardo VII Park — Several room types include a balcony, terrace or panoramic floor, and guests repeatedly mention the park views as a highlight. Request a high floor or a room with a balcony when booking.
  • Breakfast earns consistent praise — Guests describe the breakfast as 'very good', 'hearty' and 'sensational', with a wide choice of hot dishes and real coffee from a machine.
  • Central yet quiet location — A short walk from Eduardo VII Park, Avenida da Liberdade and the Marquês de Pombal metro, yet on a street that guests note is free of tourist crowds.
  • Helpful, friendly staff — From porters to reception, guests highlight the staff's helpfulness and friendliness, including early check-in when rooms were ready.

Worth weighing

4 to weigh
  • Rooms and cleanliness score below other categories — While guests generally find rooms clean, the 'Rooms and cleanliness' rating category is the lowest at 6. A few reviewers noted dated towels or cramped triple rooms.
  • No pets allowed — The hotel does not accept pets, so travellers with animals will need to look elsewhere.
  • No on-site parking — There is no dedicated parking listed, which could be a consideration if you plan to drive in Lisbon. The hotel does offer car hire and an airport shuttle.
  • Check-in starts at 14:00 — Standard check-in begins at 2pm and runs until just before midnight. If you arrive earlier, the hotel may or may not have a room ready — one guest was accommodated early, but this isn't guaranteed.

“A filling breakfast and a good location for exploring.”

“Great value for a three-star hotel. Easy to reach, close to the metro and buses, and near a park and a shopping centre. A supermarket is about 20 minutes away on foot. The staff were very friendly — we arrived before 2pm and were checked in straight away. Our room for two was spacious and clean, with daily housekeeping. Towels were a bit worn but changed daily. The bathtub was comfortable, although the bidet was awkward to use. One evening water leaked from the ceiling into the toilet, likely from the bathroom above, but it didn't ruin our stay. Breakfast was tasty and filling — you won't leave hungry. I'd recommend it for anyone happy with a solid three-star.”

“Lovely views of the park from the balcony, very clean, and close to the Botanical Garden.”

8.2Verified guest

“This was my fourth stay. The location is excellent and the views from the terrace are superb — I wouldn't book an interior room or anything below the 7th floor. The daytime staff were friendly and attentive.”

“Firm mattresses made for a great night's sleep, and the view was splendid.”
